Title: The Voices From Hypothalamus
Artist: F600
Cat: NC05
Date: 01 / 2012
Available: Yes

This EP represents a landmark on Nice Cat's history as Fiat 600 cuts a deep slice of musical history on Chilean's underground scene, since “The Pinochet Boys”, back in the 80's where Miguel Conejeros started his unique approach to groove making as the brains of this legendary art-punk band (think Glaxo Babies meets Los Angeles Negros) and throughout his oblique jungle-drums and bass excursion in the nineties this national treasure always knows how to deliver the unexpected and leave a sweet aftertaste. Here are six offbeat dance gems, including his reworking of Villalobos-Los Updates's “Miss U So”. We at Nice Cat try to keep it cool but, if truth needs to be told, we are gleaming with pride.

Nice Cat 05. All tracks and music by Miguel Conejeros except A3 (Ricardo Villalobos-Jorge González) and B2 ( Carlos Vergara-Miguel Conejeros). Artwork by Yvonne Blanco. Distributed by www.dnp-music.com. Mastered by Chris Potter at Electric Mastering.

Title: Joli Chat EP
Artist: Ricardo Villalobos, Los Updates, Anthony Collins
Cat: NC04
Date: 04 / 2011
Available: Yes

Nice Cat brings to your probably lavish sound system two beautifully strange dance cuts: Side A is called “Throw Water Into The Lake”, a deep and earthy track sculpted by Ricardo Villalobos, Los Updates and Anthony Collins.

On the flip side you can listen to the collaboration of Villalobos and Los Updates. The track “I Miss You So Much” creates a really celebratory mood.

This nice record is a collectable item. That’s for sure.

Title: Los Updates vs. Argenis Brito E.P.
Artist: Los Updates vs. Argenis Brito
Cat: NC03
Date: 05 / 2010
Available: Yes

Argenis Brito and Los Updates: two of the most left -field exponents of chilean dance music armada get together on vinyl.

Argenis, born in Venezuela, was given a chilean club passport by Luciano, Pier Bucci and Villalobos a long time ago due to his outstanding services as a producer, singer and overall party raiser. He met Los Updates's boss Jorge González in New York in 1994, while attending a Wu Tang Clan show.

On this brand new release they offer “Valparaíso” and “Don't Take Candy From Strangers”... you can smell the delicious scent of an instant classic emanating from the deeply grooved wax.

Title: They Advised Us Not To Sing EP
Artist: Los Updates
Cat: NC02
Date: 06 / 2010
Available: Yes

“They Advised Us Not To Sing” reads the cheeky title of excentric chilean beatmakers Los Updates new EP.

4 tracks full of wicked grooves, raw and sweet at the same time and that particular discard of old rules that has become the trademark of producers coming from the land at the end of the world. Of course released by Nice Cat Records.

Title: Driving Nowhere
Artist: Ricardo Villalobos vs Los Updates
Cat: NC01
Date: 10 / 2009
Available: No

The sound of the first Nice Cat Release is a natural output from the joyous mess that Villalobos and Los Updates churn out every time they book a studio.

A marriage of dark humour and twisted four on the floor this record leaves some unanswered questions, wich is a good thing these looped-based days. The Fiat 600 remix and the rather respectful Audio George remix make this delicious treat a triple one.
